Eid Spiritual Care Well-Being Colouring Card
As with all celebrations, celebrating Eid can be tricky when facing difficulties in life.
This sturdy A5 colouring card offers a simple way to reflect things which bring us joy. This is a good way to help people connect with things and people in their life which give them hope and strength, helping them find meaningful moments even in difficult seasons.
One the back of the card, participants are encouraged to think of four things or people who bring them joy. These can be big things like family, or small things, like hearing bird song.
They then allocate a colour to each things they've written and colour in the star next to it that colour.
They can then use those four colours to colour the front of the card, creating a way to remember those things.
Finally, the challenge is to pick one colour and see how many shades of that colour you can see today and to use those sightings to remember things which bring you joy.
Developed with the Muslim chaplains at Birmingham Children's Hospital Chaplaincy, this card is perfect for Muslim families wanting a meaningful, authentic way to mark Eid.
However, this card can, of course, be used by anyone wanting to reflect on what brings them joy.
It's a simple activity giving space for a deep reflection which changes how we experience life.
